A store that sells the reason to buy, not only the product.

Dubai is one of the most competitive ecommerce markets in the region, and most stores in it are a theme with a logo. The ones that hold margin have a position, a product page that answers the objection, and a checkout that behaves the way UAE customers expect. I design all three together.

The situation

What is different about selling online in Dubai

The checkout is local or it leaks. Cash on delivery still matters for some categories, buy-now-pay-later has become standard for others, Apple Pay is expected on mobile, and delivery promises are judged in hours, not days. A store built on a default template gets these wrong in ways the analytics only show as abandonment.

Bilingual commerce is harder than a bilingual brochure. Every product, variant, collection, filter and transactional email exists twice, and the Arabic version has to be searchable in Arabic. The data model has to be designed for that before the first product is loaded.

Marketplaces set the comparison. Buyers price-check against the large regional marketplaces in another tab. A brand store cannot win on price alone; it wins on the argument for buying direct — range, service, story, guarantee — and that argument is a design problem.

What I do here

How I build a store for the UAE

  • The direct argument

Why buy from you instead of a marketplace, written and designed into the home, collection and product pages.

  • A UAE checkout

Local payment methods, delivery windows, returns and address formats designed in, on Shopify or a headless stack depending on scale.

  • Bilingual product data

A catalogue model where Arabic is a first-class version of every product, searchable and indexable.

  • Merchandising that can be run

Collections, landing pages and campaigns the team can build without a developer — with speed and search protected by the system.

How it is bought

Platform build

12 – 20 weeks

Rebuild the site as a system the team can run — designed, engineered and search-architected together.

Commerce is a platform decision. A build engagement covers the store, the data model, the integrations and the search architecture, with a growth partnership afterwards for merchandising and experimentation.

Questions

Shopify or something custom?
Shopify for most brands: it is fast to run, well supported in the UAE and the payment integrations exist. Headless or custom when the catalogue, the integrations or the content model genuinely exceed what Shopify does well. I will say which on the call.
Can the store be in Arabic and English?
Yes, as two full storefronts on one domain. Product data, collections, search and emails all exist in both languages.
Do you handle payments and delivery integration?
Yes. Payment gateways, buy-now-pay-later providers, delivery partners and returns flows are part of the build, not a separate project.
Do you also sell into Saudi Arabia?
Many Dubai brands do, and the Saudi market has its own platforms and payment rails. I have a separate Arabic page on Saudi online stores, and I design for both from the start when the plan includes both.
